You never know about the new research chemical

1P-LSD can also be referred to as 1-propionyl-lysergic acid diethylamide when it is to be called scientifically. It is a psychedelic drug that comes from the lysergamide class which appears to be a derivative analog of LSD.  Back in 2015, it was sold online by people as a designer drug. The LSD molecule is been modified by 1P-LSD through the addition of a propionyl group to the nitrogen molecule present in LSD’s indole.  Propionyl is composed of the carbonyl chain CH3CH2CO which is bound to an amino group. A polycyclic group consisting of a bicyclic hexahydro indole which is bound to a bicyclic quinoline group is contained in the structure of 1P-LSD.

According to the reports obtained from users, it is assumed that the subjective effects of 1P-LSD are similar to LSD and it is quite hard to differentiate them. When compared to other forms of psychedelics such as LSA and ayahuasca, 1P-LSD is more stimulating due to the physical and cognitive effects it has. Some of the physical effects include;

  • Appetite is suppressed
  • Muscle spasms
  • Dilation of the pupil
  • Increased salivation
  • Vasoconstriction
  • Bodily control enhancement
  • Blood pressure increases
  • Heart rate increases
  • Increased perspiration
  • Urinating becomes difficult
  • Excessive yawning
  • Nausea
  • Muscle contractions
  • Seizure

Cognitive effects of 1P-LSD include;

  • Conceptual thinking
  • Creativity enhancement
  • Increased libido
  • Increased music appreciation
  • Increased sense of humor
  • Emotion enhancement
  • Novelty enhancement
  • Personal bias suppression
  • Personal meaning enhancement
  • Immersion enhancement
  • Suggestibility enhancement
  • Cognitive euphoria
  • Delusion

There is no known toxic dose for 1P-LSD as it is a research chemical. It is believed that the risk of adverse psychological reactions is increased when a higher dose is induced. Some of these reactions include; anxiety, delusions, seizures and so on. 1P-LSD produces a combined effect when mixing with the following mixtures;

Benzodiazepines – Benzodiazepines have a very high effect on 1P-LSD as it reduces the intensity of the effects by suppressing the brain’s activity entirely.

Alcohol – the anxiety and tension 1P-LSD brings to the body when taken can be reduced by alcohol’s depressant effects. But also you know that alcohol can cause nausea, physical fatigue and so on, which is not good for the body so therefore it is advisable to drink the normal amount of alcohol that you can endure quickly

MDMA – When 1P-LSD and MDMA come together, they help in enhancing each other’s effects. This means that one drug improves the effects of another. Research has shown that LSD improves the neurotoxicity of MDMA, it is impossible to predict the synergy between these two.  It is advisable to take lower doses than what an individual should take normally.

Cannabis – the cognitive effects of 1P-LSD listed above can be heavily intensified by cannabis. A user should apply extreme caution when trying to combine the two because it can lead to higher chances of negative psychological reactions which will be very bad for such a person.
